Houston Tuesday Musical Club Chorus

To provide an encouraging place for women to perform - a place of fellowship, mutual respect, and support. Where we celebrate everyone’s gifts, no matter how they change with life’s successes and challenges. Where we will always find a place for your gifts and energy. And where we always extend open arms of invitation to music and singing.

  • Our Chorus

The Houston Tuesday Musical Club was founded in 1911 by Mrs. Gentry Waldo with the well-known Miss Ima Hogg serving as chairman of the executive committee and as president the following season. Originally known as the Girls’ Musical Club, HTMC enjoys a 107- year history of promoting public awareness and interest in music in the greater Houston community. Twenty-five years after the founding, the Choral Ensemble was formed as an offshoot of HTMC. In 1950 the club chorus adopted the name Tuesday Musical Club Chorus and has the distinction of being Houston’s oldest choral organization in continuous existence.
